AVT-715 Dual J1850 Interface (RS-232/422)
The AVT-715 is Y2K compliant. The unit does not have any internal timing
or calendar functions and is completely unaware of time, day, or date.
AVT-716 Multiple Interface (RS-232/422)
The AVT-716 is Y2K compliant if the user does not utilize the "Time
Notification" function. The AVT-716 has been tested and demonstrated to
continue to operate properly before, during, and after the rollover from
year 99 to year 00.
The AVT-716 design incorporates a real time clock to provide a one-second time tick for on-board use. The AVT-716 does not otherwise internally utilize the real time clock. A feature of the AVT-716 permits the user to turn the "Time Notification" function on and off. When the "Time Notification" function is turned on, the AVT-716 will report current date and time once a second to the host computer. The date report includes the year in a two digit format.

AVT Controller Software
Testing has revealed that the Controller software is not Y2K compliant
with regards to the message time and date tagging function. Otherwise the
Controller software continues to function properly (apparently). If the
time and date tagging function is enabled the time and date tag for each
message is random in nature. This function can be turned off and the Controller
software appears to operate properly.
An investigation is underway regarding an update to the Controller software
to make it Y2K compliant. As information becomes available with regards
to this issue, we will update this page.
